I realise I haven’t posted on here for about a month now, so I am sorry about that- life got a bit busy in July and I didn’t really know what I wanted to blog about and kept feeling uninspired by it. You may have noticed I was a bit quiet over on Instagram as well, but I’m feeling good at the moment so hopefully you can expect to see more from me in the future!
I thought it’d be nice to jump back into blogging again with a little life update, as quite a lot has happened in the last month! Prepare yourself for a lot of graduation pictures….
The biggest update as you most likely will know about (it’s also in the title so it probably wouldn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out- this is such a weird expression…) is that I have officially graduated from the University of Sussex with a BA (Hons) in Media and Communications! I got a 2:1 which I am so over the moon about, as honestly there were times this year when I didn’t think I’d be able to pull it off.
I wasn’t really too fussed about my graduation at first, as I’m staying at Sussex to complete a Masters in Human Resource Management in September so it didn’t feel like the end of an era to me. I am so glad I went though as it was such a lovely day, which I’m sure I’ll remember forever! Also I am SO RELIEVED I didn’t fall over!
It was kind of weird, because I wasn’t expecting to feel emotional but I actually found myself getting a bit teary at graduation, because I felt really proud of myself and it suddenly hit me that I’d achieved something which I never would have thought someone like me could do!
After the ceremony (and after guzzling down the free prosecco) we headed outside to take lots of cute pictures. Most of them were taken by Malcolm Tam but some were also taken by friends and family!
I debated cropping the other couple out, but in the end decided not to as it just looks so awkward and makes me laugh…
I love all of these photos so much, and they always make me smile! It kind of felt like what I imagine my wedding day would feel like, with the amount of photos being taken all the time, but it was fun and I am glad we had this mini photoshoot!
Also, yes, I did get in the sea with my dress on, but it was actually really warm, and I dried off pretty quickly!
Apart from graduation, this month has been spent working a lot! It’s been quite intense, but at the same time I don’t mind being busy so it kind of works out. All I’m focusing on now is moving house, as I move on Saturday and honestly I cannot wait.
Our flat is so big and nice, and I can’t wait to just organise things and make things cute and homely.
I can’t think of much else to update you all on really, I’m sure I’ll update you all again once I’ve moved, but thank you for bearing with me throughout July- realise I haven’t been the best blogger in the world, but hey- life happens sometimes! (I still can’t believe i’ve officially graduated)
Thank you all so much for reading,
Love from Lauren x
