5 Things | The June Edition

Firstly, sorry for a lack of posts recently, and also that this one is slightly late, but today I’m talking about my top 5 memories from the month of June!

June has been a tricky one to be honest. I left a job, started a new job, hated the new job, ended up leaving, and the rest of June has been interview filled! That being said though, it wasn’t all doom and gloom, the weather has been lovely, and I have had some really nice days!

This post is part of my 5 Things series on my blog, and you can see previous months’ post here!

Abby came home!

My best friend Abby came back from her year abroad in America this month, and it was so lovely catching up and just hanging out. We met in our first year at University, when we moved into the same flat, and obviously i’ve just finished my degree, and it was quite sad not to be finishing at the same time as her. But, we will both still be studying next year, so all is well…

I went round to her house for a weekend in June, and then she came and stayed with me in Brighton recently, where she got me addicted to Love Island, and we discovered a cute pub near me- which doesn’t require walking up the giant hill I live on…

It’s been so lovely having Abby back and I can’t wait until August when she moves back to Brighton!

I got a 2:1!

I got my degree results back this month, and I found out I’ll be graduating with a 2:1 at the end of the month, which I am so happy about!

There’s definitely been times at Uni where I really struggled and wasn’t sure if i’d come out with a good grade at the end, but thankfully I did, and I’m actually really proud of my results. It also means I get a little bit of money off of the price of my masters course next year, which was a huge relief, and a massive weight off my shoulders!

I don’t actually graduate until the end of July, (which, side note, I’m really struggling to find a graduation dress, so if anyone has any advice on that please do hit me up!) so now I’m just floating about life! I am excited to get started on my masters in September, and study something a bit different for the year!

Spent some nice time back at home

I’ve never been one to struggle with home sickness when at University, so I usually don’t really tend to go home all too much. This month however, was my sisters Birthday and so I went home for the weekend, and ended up staying for a few extra days.

It was such a nice few days back at home, and the weather was really nice too which was a bonus! I wrote a blog post all about Jemma’s Birthday weekend, which you can check out here.

I definitely don’t miss my home town, but I of course do miss my family, so it was nice to just chill and spend time at home.

Had some cute dates with Adam

For half of June, Adam was back at his home, which coincidentally is about 20 minutes away from where my Mum lives, and so whilst we were both home, we had some cute dates.

We went for a Mexican meal, which was so yummy and I also finally got an espresso martini, which i’ve been saying I fancied for ages! We also just explored a bit around where Adam grew up, which was nice and chilled!

We also went and hired out a rowing boat, which was actually very cheap at £4 each for half an hour, and we rowed round a little lake in the sunshine. It was so cute, and it was something a bit different as well!

It’s our anniversary tomorrow, and I still love how I get excited to go on dates with him. A bit cheesy, but true all the same…

I donated my hair

At the very end of June, I donated around 8 inches of hair to The Little Princess Trust! It was quite a big change, and when the hairdresser cut off all my plaits there was a brief second where I thought I hated my new hair, and that I’d made a mistake…

But, I actually really like it now, it’s been so nice especially in this heatwave we’re having in the UK, and it makes washing my hair so so soo much easier! Plus, it’s gone to a really good cause, so that’s a nice feeling.

I used to hide behind my hair a lot, so now having it shorter means I can’t really do that anymore! That’s probably a good thing though to be honest. But, it feels and looks so much healthier, and I think i’m now used to it!

Also thank you all so much for all of your lovely comments on my Instagram over the month! I was uploading everyday, and it was so nice to be chatting with you all throughout the month!

free things to in brighton

I’m excited that it’s July, because I get to move out at the beginning of August, and I am so ready for that! Thank you for all of your support throughout June, I actually had the most amount of page views for my blog this month, and I gained a few new Instagram followers, which has been quite exciting!

Let me know if there are any posts you’d like to see from me this month!

Thanks as always for reading,

Love, Lauren xx
