This year I’ve completely thrown myself into Blogging, and have posted so much more than I ever have before. I’ve been loving it, and I love getting creative and writing, but it can be difficult to think of Blog Post ideas sometimes, especially ones you think people will actually want to read!
I’m all for writing what you want to, and I often do that, because at the end of the day this little piece of the internet is mine to own (sort of, my Media Degree student self is cringing at the fact I just said that) but at the same time, it’s really exciting when you see a blog post doing well! When you get a post idea, you never really know how people will react to it, but it’s always nice when people leave lovely comments and share the love!
I’ve compiled a little list of where I get some inspiration for Blog Posts, and at the end of the post, I’ll share a list of Blog Post ideas to hopefully give anyone who may need some inspiration some help!
Read Other Blogs!
I love blogging, and the whole community that comes alongside it so so much, so I usually keep up to date with my favourite bloggers posts.
I also love finding new bloggers as well, and spending some time reading other peoples work can really inspire me sometimes, and i’ll think “oooh, now that’s a great idea.” I’m not saying copy peoples work, that’s not cool- but taking inspiration from it is fine, I think! Plus, you can always credit the blogger who inspired you, which will work out great for you, and them!
If you never know how to find peoples blogs, then I love using Instagram and Twitter to connect with other bloggers. On instagram you could search for different blogs you’re interested in like #beautyblogs #lifestyleblogs whatever floats your boat!!
Twitter is amazing for discovering bloggers, especially if you follow some of the RT accounts. These are accounts where if you publish a new post and use a special hashtag or tag an account, they will RT everyones work so on your feed all day you’re exposed to a variety of posts!
Some of my faves are:
I’m interested in lifestyle, beauty and motivational bloggers, and I find these accounts good for me! There are loads though for different types of bloggers, so just go on Twitter and explore a bit!
Similar to reading other posts, I’ve found bloglovin’ to be quite useful when trying to find inspiration. If you type into the search bar “Blog Post Ideas” there are hundreds of bloggers posts, with different topics who have given a list of ideas of posts you could write if you have writers block!
I often ‘love’ good ones I find, so if you want to give me a follow on Bloglovin’ you can see some of my faves.
Going for a wander, or a planned walk can often provide some good blog post ideas. Take whatever you use to get pictures for your blog, and spend some time taking cool photos. You never know what may spark some inspiration!
Sometimes, for me at least, It helps just to have a different change of scenery, and going on a walk is a great opportunity to use your brain and think of what you want to post.
I’d also just say if you have a great idea which you think you’d enjoy reading, go for it! It’s your blog at the end of the day, and people don’t want to read 1000 similar posts!
These are just some of the things that I do to try find inspiration. Another tip i’d say is don’t force yourself, or get stressed out when you can’t think of any ideas! Blogging, for me, is supposed to be fun, and creative, so theres not much point really stressing myself out over it!
Now, I thought I’d compile a list of a few blog post ideas, in case anyone is reading this post looking for a bit of inspo!
– 5 Things Posts (top 5 products, memories of month, tv shows etc)
– Life updates
– … thoughts I had whilst … (One of my most popular posts is my all nighter library post!)
